Around 200 volunteers built a playground at the Arizona Autism Charter School on March 31, 2017
Fairytale Brownies co-founder, David Kravetz, cuts wood for playground benches and picnic tables.
More than just a playground! Volunteers also beautify the space with murals, planters, park benches and picnic tables.
Volunteers move 135 cubic yards of mulch that will cover the ground around the playground equipment.
Fairytale Brownies co-founder Eileen Spitalny, and Arizona Autism Charter School lead founder, Diana Diaz, help to put the finishing touches on the playground.
A finished playground for the students of Arizona Autism Charter School. This playground will help facilitate the learning of important social skills. Thanks again to all who help make this possible!
To celebrate 25 years in business, we partnered with KaBOOM! to build a playground at the Arizona Autism Charter School, in Phoenix on March 31, 2017. We raised $100,000 and shut down the bakery for the day so our employees could take part in the build. Thank you to all the volunteers around the community who came out, and a special thanks to all of our sponsors who made this build possible.
Around 200 volunteers came together, and in 5.5 hours we:
We’d like to thank our generous sponsors for taking us one step closer to bringing the gift of play into the daily lives of all kids.
We met on the kindergarten playground in 1971. It’s where our friendship was forged, dreams were made and most importantly, fun was had. With that friendship and a cherished family recipe, we created Fairytale Brownies with the mission to help make the world a sweeter place.
For the past 15 years, we’ve partnered with KaBOOM!, the national nonprofit dedicated to bringing the gift of play into the daily lives of all kids.
Since our partnership with KaBOOM! began, Fairytale Brownies has contributed more than $300,000, along with brownies, cookies and countless volunteer hours working toward this goal.
On April 29, 2011, with help from our customers and fundraising partners, Fairytale Brownies was able to fund and build a 3,100-square-foot playground for homeless and transitional students at Children First Academy in Tempe, Arizona. More than 200 volunteers participated, including all of the Fairytale Brownies team members.
